Portland Shibari Salon

 Portland Shibari Salon is an inclusive and consent-forward space nestled up in the Southwest Hills area of Portland, Oregon.  


Our space features: 

  • main studio with hardwood floors 
  • tatami room 
  • 8 suspension points
  •  hashira
  • 4 suspension bamboo
  • full bathroom and shower


Jonathan & Sappho are the instructors in residence at the space, and host workshops, private instruction, photoshoots, and more.

Hajime Kinoko

Hajime Kinoko is perhaps the world's most famous rope artist--an innovator whose work continually pushes the creative boundaries of rope art. Teaching and making art internationally, he also directs the activities of the Ichinawakai (One-Rope Society) in Tokyo, Japan.


Jonathan is one of three people outside of Japan to hold a high-level teaching certification in Hajime Kinoko's style of Shibari.
